Sponsorship

Sponsorship is needed as royalties from book sales won't cover production costs. The funds needed to create a comprehensive guide are estimated at around N$1,000,000. Any contributions towards this amount will be greatly appreciated.

Funds will be used for:

  • Travel to obtain photographs;
  • Accommodation during fieldwork and writing;
  • Necessary photographic, outdoor, and other equipment;
  • Permits from NCRST;
  • Other logistical and administrative costs.

Sponsorship of a suitable vehicle for fieldwork is also being sought.

Crowdfunding

A crowdfunding campaign will be opened to the public in parallel with the corporate sponsorship drive, giving everyone a chance to support the project.

Fund Management

Funds will be managed through the Ubuntu Wildlife Trust, a registered non-profit in South Africa and UK, able to issue tax certificates to sponsors from those countries (NPC No. 2015/218115/08, PBO No. 930073764; UK Charity Number: 1189781).

If not successful in raising the amount needed to complete the project, sponsors will be reimbursed their full contribution. Should the project not be completed** sponsors will be offered the option of reimbursement of remaining funds proportional to their contribution, or to move those funds to a worthy conservation or biodiversity research cause.

**There is always a risk that factors beyond the authors control may result in the project not reaching completion. Every endeavor will be made to avoid such an outcome, but unfortunately it is not possible to provide a guarantee on completion on creative projects such as this.
